I bought this mouse back in like 2014 and it It still works perfectly. It only has a couple extra buttons, but in a world where there are tons of garbage gaming mice that die in a couple months, this has absolutely been worth the money. Highly recommend.

After 6-7 years or so, it still doesn't double click on single clicks, and every single click registers and holds right up until the switch is released. This won't be true for 90% of mice out there.

I bought this mouse originally as a stand in while I found another mouse that was more suitable for gaming. I thought I would be using it a year, maximum, and then it would die and I would get a better mouse. Little did I know I would still be using the same mouse 6 years later. The only mouse I would consider buying to replace it is another of the same.

I own 2 of these mice already - one is 4 yrs old the other is a few months old I bought off ebay. It was labeled new but was clearly a refurbed item based on foreign particles in the grooves and scratches on the underside but otherwise a twin of my original. I kept it after I cleaned it since it functioned and was significantly cheaper in price. This one is is...odd. Different in subtle ways. It was packaged as if new that is for sure but I am thinking it it is a refurb from the manufacturer. The first thing I noticed was the bottom section of the mouse is not smooth plastic but that soft latex kind. The top area where the USB cord starts was not flush like my original. The 2 tabs are noticeably raised much like the one side of my true refurb. There is also light scratches on the flat surface underneath. Normally I wouldn't mind, but it was labeled as new and I paid the price of a new one. It does function and I need the mouse for my 3rd rig and too many mice cramp my hand as this one is longer and conforms to my unladylike larger than normal hands. (A feature of mine I hate but since my husband's hands are freakishly HUGE we are obviously a perfect match going on 22 yrs together.) Anyhow, that is my only gripe that I seemed to have paid full price for what appears to be a (possibly manufacturer) refurb. Maybe it is a later version of the same mouse, but highly unlikely. Ignore the dust and specks - my camera picks up every detail for better or worse.

My old g400s
This is the second time using this particular mouse. I had one previously for 5+ years the only problem was the bottom wore off over time so I decided to buy another. The laser works and continues to work amazing even with the bottom skies almost completely worn away. I bought the old g400s from best buy.

New g400s
The one i bought from amazon recently came brand new but the mouse wheel sticks and the laser does not work as well as the old 400s one so I went back to using my old g400s mouse and cannot afford to pay shipping to return the product at this moment.

I am writing this review because I like the look and feel of the mouse and the way it handles while working on the pc and gaming but wish i had received a new one that actually worked properly. The five stars are only for the first g400s I had purchased.

It is just like the mx518.The cord is a bit flimsy and the dpi setting are slightly different as well but you get used to it. All in all I am happy with the purchase - it is a solid replacement

Tracking is good for gaming and they last a long time. As I alluded to in the title, my left thumb is to short to easily reach the furthest button. I use the first thumb button to talk with voice programs. If you want a mouse with many buttons, this is not the one you want.Very good product.
