Lightweight, smooth flow and programmable buttons are great features to have unless you've never used them. And as far as accuracy goes this is a winner! One area I won't compromise is on my mouse/keyboard combo. They few off brand types I've had over the years never lasted and usually performed less than stellar. While that may not be a deal breaker for some, it's critical to me than when I find something I really like I stick with it for quite. Case in point, my G19 keyboard purchased in 2012 still in use. Yes, you do pay much higher for Logitech peripherals but they continue to support their products AND you get way more than you pay for in my experience and opinion. I bought my G19 keyboard in 2012 as soon as they were released at a local (then) CompUSA for $175.00. 9 years later I'm still using the exact same keyboard happily and in average spent it's costed me $19.44 over the time period per year. The G300 Logitech mouse I have now, I purchased on Ebay for $18.50 shipping included. I had no clue what price they were actually going for and 3 years later it's still performing perfectly. Would I have paid the over $100 price tag? Probably not so I was even happier when it arrived and was the real deal. The box was damaged in previous shipping so I took a chance and was well rewarded.I do minimal gaming here and there but having the extra functions of the buttons on the mouse is very useful once you get the layout and functions in your head. And as far as accuracy and speed for your cursor, no one IMO beats Logitech for consistency. I've used a few CAD programs over the years and having pin-point accuracy is a monumental time saver!Having built several computers for customers, I will buy the occasional $20 keyboard and mouse just to get their systems up and running or if I need to do a fix/repair from someone but on my own home system I'm strictly Logitech for a reason. You get what you pay for, especially long term.I had one of the original Logitech gaming mice from back in the late 1990's and it lasted for a good 5-6 years including going on the road for a few years due to work requirements. In between I bought some cheapo replacement but never really liked any of them. 3 years ago when I bought the G300 I was ecstatic that it felt like my original albeit minus some of the weight. Ergonomically I would absolutely go with a Logitech series mouse too, that was one of the biggest drawbacks of using the cheaper off brand replacements. If you use your mouse a lot or over long periods of time you'll want to buy quality, it's worth it in the long run for many reasons including physically. The build quality alone makes it well worth whatever price you pay too. These are in no way cheap crappy junk that you'll only get a year out of, yes I've had a few of those also. I would expect to get at least a minimum of 5-8 years out of this mouse which makes the price I paid for it initially even better!

I'm writing this year's after this mouse got lost in a big move between houses. I had this thing for like 6 years and never reviewed it. Better late than never I guess. Maybe this will help anyone who buys it here or used. In the 10 years I had this mouse it never once failed me. The RGB and DPI was always preserved in onboard memory on the mouse and I never even needed the Logitech software after the first time I set it up (their software was much worse 6 years ago). It was a claw grip mouse with decent DPI capability and surprisingly it felt modern even years after purchase. This mouse and my old keyboard made me brand loyal. The g300 is fairly light and the sensor kind of derps if you don't have a mousepad and raise it a large distance. It'll always try and track because it was one of those red laser type sensors.Over 6 years of constant use every day, both at home and even a year or two where I brought it into the office I worked to use instead of their gross Dell mouse. The rubber padding on the side where your thumb sits was worm so smooth it exposed the plastic clip that held the rubber on. The rubber never did peel off though. The silver plastic on the left and right click stayed good, and the scroll wheel held up.The USB was rock solid and didn't split at the cable or anything.I'm assuming I used this poor thing well beyond it's warranty and intended lifespan so the fact that the mechanical parts held up.I don't even know if this is still sold I just saw it on my previous orders. If you need a workhorse of a mouse and you don't care if it's light, and doesn't have the latest dual sensor technology then this is a good call. It'll last you until you get sick of it. I wish I still had mine just to shelve and display proudly.

I have used the G300 mouse for over 5 years. I've polished off some of the finish in that time as you can see in the picture, but it has given me NO problems. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quality mouse with many programmable buttons. On occasion I have had to use a different mouse on other computers and they don't match up. At that point I can't wait to get back to my G300. Logitech did good.

Perfect mouse for my needs. I bought it because I needed a three button mouse for my work (the central scroll button is the 3rd button). I don't use the other buttons so I can't comment on that. The scroll has a nice feel to it, doesn't spin needlessly fast, and has a step feel to turning it so that you can tell how far the wheel is going. It is as sensitive a mouse as I need, not too many lights or extra unneeded stuff added on.
I used my other mouse (identical to this one) for years, so I am very pleased to just replace the same one and keep going. It's very comfortable in my average-sized hand and I love the thumb rest on the side. I can change the little colored lights on whim but I don't usually use that function. Mine's on blue and stays that way, though you can use blue, green, or red as you please. Hoping this mouse will last as long as the other one. My last one started ignoring the click-and-hold function and ignoring a few left clicks. Since it had so much longevity, I'm not concerned with buying an exact copy of the last one. New one is working great, so no complaints!

This was my first gaming mouse that I bought about 10 years ago. I used to play a lot of MMO/RPG's, but I just started playing a shooter (Fortnite). The mouse lasted forever and it has just enough buttons without being overwhelming. The buttons are all easy to reach. Binding keys to the extra buttons is great. The mouse feels great.
Most importantly, it has lasted for 10 years. Unfortunately, my dog got a hold of it today and broke it. Probably would have lasted me another 10 years. I've always liked logitech and this mouse is so good that I am considering buying another one 10 years later. Just not sure if I want to but this one or the upgraded G300s. I'm sure I can't go wrong either way.

Logitech always makes amazing mouse. Been using it for 5 years now with no problems. Except the famous double click problem which every mouse has at some point. There is a fix for that as well online.
Might be a tad bit small if you have large hands.

I love these mice. I ordered multiples of these. Unfortunately, I had the misfortune of accidentally dropping one on the floor. It has since stopped working. It is an ex-mouse. Bearing future mishaps, I intend to order more of this model.

Great mouse! I used it extensively for playing games like Arma, League of Legends, Company of Heroes, Men of War, Total War and this mouse never failed. I found it comfortable with each button easy to reach. I bought this in 2013 and I still use it in 2017. I find it quite sturdy as there were a couple of times I banged it against the desk and it never quit on me. The 3 different settings available (indicated by the LED lighting on the mouse) is another great feature. I use each setting for games and day to day tasks. Overall, 5 stars from me as it delivered what it promised and it keeps working flawlessly.
